How to wash?

You need help? Call us or write to us. We will advise you on how to wash the rug at home or arrange its collection. We will send it to our proven laundry, and then deliver the rug straight to your home.

If you decide to clean the rug on your own, here are some cleaning tips:

DAILY CARE FOR NATURAL CARPETS

In order for the carpet to retain its beauty as long as possible, it should be cleaned at least once a week.

In the case of fresh dirt:

  1. First of all, check the washing instructions on the label.
  2. The stain should be treated promptly, otherwise it may soak into the carpet permanently.
  3. Carefully drain any spilled liquid with a clean cloth and scoop up solids.
  4. Place a clean cotton cloth (preferably white) on the liquid for a few minutes and let it soak.
  5. Always start cleaning from the edge of the stain / spill and continue towards the center.
  6. Watch out! Wiping too hard can damage, felted or discolor the material.
  7. It's best to use a professional detergent (we recommend: cleaning agents).
  8. If necessary, repeat the above steps from step 2.
  9. The cleaned area can be dried using a fan or a dryer at low speed.
  10. For the final effect, very gently wipe with a clothes brush in the direction of the bristles.

For everyday use and removing small stains, we recommend a dedicated professional cleaning agent as a panacea for any dirt. You can clean both light and stubborn stains with it: https://carpetsandmore.pl/category/srodki-czyszczace/
It is an absolute "must have" in every home! You can also use it for upholstered furniture.

NATURAL CARPET WASHING OUT

If your rug needs a complete refresh, we strongly suggest that you give it to a specialist rug washing company.
Remember to inform the laundry of what material your rug is made of.
Viscose and silk carpets will require particularly gentle treatment.

Wool and cotton carpets, flat woven - they will not like being completely wetted. The former should be properly dried.
On the other hand, flat-woven cotton fabrics should not be washed with water, as they may lose their shape.

WASHING A COTTON OR VINYL CARPET IN THE MACHINE

In our offer you will find rugs that you can easily wash in the washing machine!
Why? Because they were woven from raw materials that are perfect for this.
They will be:
- all MATTAN vinyl carpets (i.e. PVC and polyester) which you will find at Carpets & More
- MATTAN cotton-vinyl rugs (i.e. cotton, polypropylene and polyester)
- 100% rugs cotton by RUG SOLID

Each of them can be washed in a washing machine at 30 degrees Celsius using a mild detergent. After washing, the rug should be stretched and hung to dry.
Remember that the washing program does not include a drying step! Mattan and RugSolid do not like this.
And if you use any of the machine-washable rugs outdoors (e.g. on the patio or in the garden), you can rinse them off with a garden hose and brush out stubborn dirt. It is up to you which method will be more convenient for you.

CLEANING OUTDOOR POLYESTER CARPETS

If you own a polypropylene colored outdoor rug from brands such as Brink & Campman, Orla Kiely, Harlequin or Scion, keeping it clean shouldn't be a problem. Vacuum it daily without using the whisk in the vacuum cleaner. You can remove small stains with water and a mild detergent. If you make the carpet soaked while washing it, the base of the carpet may soften slightly. Do not worry! It's a natural process. After drying, the carpet will return to normal. If the carpet has become completely soaked during washing or heavy rain, it is a good idea to turn it upside down, get rid of excess water and let it dry in the sun.
