And remember that the first impression can only be made once ... That is why it is worth taking the arrangement of the hall as seriously as the arrangement of the living room. Let it be a space that is not only functional, but also stylish. A well-chosen carpet will help us achieve such effects.

Carpets definitely come back into favor. After years of fashion for exposed floors, when carpets were associated with interiors "like at grandma's", their popularity is growing again. It is primarily a fashion effect on a cozy one Scandinavian style i vintage style, which rediscovers and interprets the "grandma's" interior elements: hence in the most fashionable spaces we can find carpets, flower beds with impressive monster monsters or furniture that are icons of design from the communist period. The carpets have returned to the living rooms and bedrooms, but many people are cautious about the position carpet in the hall. We advise you on how to make it stylish, but also practical.

Hallway carpet: advantages and disadvantages

Why is the concern that the carpet will be a good element of the hall decoration? It is a room where we bring a lot of pollution every day. In summer, it is usually only dust and dirt, but in the autumn and winter season (which lasts a long time in Poland), we enter the house in wet, muddy shoes, in winter they have remains of stitching, often mixed with sand or salt, which are sprinkled on the streets. Even pre-cleaning shoes on the doormat does not protect us from bringing pollutants into the house. So there is a risk that the carpet will lose its good appearance very quickly and will need to be washed.

On the other hand, however, hall carpet perfectly protects the floor against dirt. This is important, especially if the room is lined with wooden parquet or panels that react poorly to contact with moisture. Certainly, a well-chosen hall carpet adds character to the arrangement and gives the room an interesting style.

Which hall carpet?

Due to the specificity of the room, hall carpet it must above all be stain resistant and easy to clean. For this reason, it is worth choosing a carpet made of synthetic fibers. It should also have as short a fleece as possible, thanks to which it will be easier to remove sand and other impurities with a vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately, a fluffy shaggy rug will not work in the hall at all. It is also worth remembering that the carpet should have an anti-slip layer on the underside to better adhere to the floor.

The colors and pattern are also important. The hall carpet must not be too light, because then even the smallest speck will be immediately visible. For this reason, also plain, monochrome rugs can be a problem. For the hall, it is worth choosing a patterned rug, the pattern of which will prevent small impurities from being immediately visible.

What shape and size of the rug should you choose? When arranging the hall, we follow the same principles as when arranging other rooms. A large carpet in a small hall will overwhelm and dominate the interior. If the hall has the form of a narrow and long corridor, which is typical for apartments in a block of flats, an elongated and quite narrow carpet, for example in the form of a sidewalk running along the entire hall, would be perfect. A spacious hall with a regular rectangular or square shape gives us more arrangement options. A round and square rug will fit it well. And if we like avant-garde solutions and the apartment is kept in a modern style, we can try to choose a rug with an original, irregular shape. A too small rug will look bad in a spacious hall.
