This is a rug with a unique history and style. The traditional costume of Indian women is a Sari made of 100% silk. It is a very colorful and patterned fabric 9 meters long, which when properly wrapped creates an outfit similar to a long loose dress. Among wealthy women, Sari is an outfit that is often changed and despite the noble material from which it is made and the artistry of design it represents, Sari very often simply throws away. Indian carpet weavers came up with the idea to buy Sari back and create original carpets from them. The material is thoroughly cleaned, then cut into thin strips and sorted according to color. These thin strips of silk are used to create a thick yarn, from which the entire carpet is then sewn using a very time-consuming and advanced weaving technique - knotting (up to 100 knots per m2).
The carpet, thanks to the material from which it is made and the weaving technique nice to touch, springy and durable. also improves the acoustics of the roomand its breathable structure keeps warmwhile retaining dust and chemicals thereby purifying the air you breathe.
